Panchayat Star Chandan Roy Realized the Show Was a Hit Thanks to a Sweet Village Moment

Chandan Roy, who plays the lovable character Vikas in the hit web series Panchayat, recently shared a heartwarming story about how he first realized the show had become a massive success.

Before Panchayat catapulted him to fame, Chandan was a struggling actor trying to make his mark in the industry. After the show premiered on Amazon Prime Video and won hearts everywhere, he went back to his home village in Bihar. While he was walking around, a young boy from the village walked up to him and asked for a selfie.

For Chandan, that simple request was a life-changing moment. In his village, people were used to seeing him just as a local boy, not as a professional actor on a popular television show. When the child recognized him and treated him like a star, it finally hit Chandan that his hard work had paid off and that millions of people were watching and loving Panchayat.

The actor often looks back at this memory with a lot of gratitude. It reminds him of how deeply the show connected with audiences across small-town and rural India, capturing the true essence of village life. Today, Chandan is a recognized face, but that first selfie in his home village remains one of his most cherished memories.
