Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff had a narrow escape on Sunday evening when unidentified gunmen fired at his car in Mumbai’s Juhu area. The incident happened around 7 p.m., as Shroff was leaving a football ground after a game. The actor escaped unhurt, but two people, including his driver, were injured.
Police said three men on a motorcycle fired several rounds at Shroff’s vehicle. Soon after, a social-media post linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility and described the attack as a warning connected to Salman Khan. Police are verifying the claim and have registered a case, while reports say suspects were later detained in Rajasthan.
The attack has reminded many people of the 1990s and early 2000s, when Mumbai’s underworld tried to influence Bollywood through film financing, casting, and distribution. During that period, several filmmakers and actors faced threats and violent attacks.
While investigators have not yet confirmed the exact motive, the shooting has raised serious concerns about celebrity safety and the possible return of organised crime’s influence over the film industry.
