Padma Awards 2026: R Madhavan, Alka Yagnik & More Honoured By President Droupadi Murmu

President Droupadi Murmu presented the prestigious Padma Awards 2026 to several legendary personalities during a special ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. The grand event was attended by high-profile dignitaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Among the top achievers, Malayalam cinema icon Mammootty and legendary playback singer Alka Yagnik were conferred with the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian honour, for their immense contributions to arts and entertainment.

Mammootty was accompanied by his proud family, including his son, actor Dulquer Salmaan. Meanwhile, popular actor-filmmaker R Madhavan, known for his versatile roles across industries, was honoured with the Padma Shri. “I consider this not just an award, but a responsibility,” R Madhavan shared with immense pride after receiving the medal.

The ceremony also celebrated excellence across sports, science, and public service. Indian cricket star Rohit Sharma also received a Padma Shri at the event. Additionally, the late actor Satish Shah was posthumously recognized with a Padma Shri for his unforgettable legacy in Indian television and cinema.
