Recently we came across news that HAQ  special screening received great applause from Legal Community And Corporate Leaders.

Now Family of Shah Bano come forward and slams HAQ maker and storyline adding ‘distorting facts’, alleges invasion of privacy: “If the film is based only on the case, then…”

According to latest development grandson of Shah Bano Begum came forward and raised objections on upcoming HAQ. Well some of us may not be aware of fact that HAQ is based on the landmark 1985 Supreme Court case Mohd Ahmed Khan vs Shah Bano Begum.

According to report Jubair while interacting with ANI alleged that HAQ was created without any consent of Shah Bano’s family and that the teaser ‘distorts’ several facts, infringing on the family’s right to privacy.

Opening about discrepancies in HAQ teaser Jubair said  “A lot of facts in the teaser are distorted… It is our private matter that has been given a commercial angle. Common people watching the movie will think it shows true events, but it does not.”

According to report HAQ producer’s lawyer came forward and responed to
legal petition filed by his mother, Siddiqua Begum Khan, which seeks a stay on the release of Haq. Advocate added that the film contains a disclaimer clarifying it is inspired by the Supreme Court judgment and a book titled ‘Bano, Bharat ki Beti’. Advocate further stressed  that it is a fictionalized portrayal and not obliged to present events factually. Further he also questioned the legitimacy of the petitioner’s claim of being daughter of Shah Bano’s, stating that there is no confirmation.

According to report Jubair urged  this defense, by raising  question that HAQ teaser conflicts with the stated basis of the film. According to him while the book focuses on the Supreme Court case, the film includes broader aspects of Shah Bano’s life not covered by the case law. While clarifying Jubair said “If the film is based only on the case, then it should show the court proceedings. But in the teaser and trailer, you can see it is completely different from the true event,”

Well let’s wait and watch will court take cognizance and movie release get halt, or filmmakers will get releife.

Upcoming HAQ is all set to release in theatres on 7th November.
