Onir, whose real name is Anirban Dhar, has been a pioneering voice in Indian cinema for over two decades. He is best known for directing groundbreaking films like “My Brother Nikhil” (2005) and “I Am” (2011), which sensitively portrayed LGBTQ+ characters and their struggles in Indian society. His work has consistently challenged social norms and brought important conversations about sexuality and identity to mainstream audiences.
