Vivek Agnihotri Accused Of Misrepresentation Of Freedom Fighter Gopal Mukherjee

Bollywood controversial filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri might stuck in legal trouble as actor to face FIR for alleged misrepresentation of Freedom Fighter Gopal Mukherjee in latest Bengal Files trailer.

According to  report Grandson of the revolutionary, Shantanu Mukherjee has demanded an apology, accusing the filmmaker of distorting his family legacy.

Vivek Agnihotri’s upcoming project Bengal Files stuck in fresh controversy as filmmaker is accused of misrepresentation of Freedom Fighter Gopal Mukherjee in trailer of upcoming project, as Shantanu Mukherjee, grandson of celebrated Bengali freedom fighter Gopal Mukherjee, filed a police complaint against the filmmaker.

In his complaint Shantanu Mukherjee disclosed the film inaccurately portrays his grandfather, calling him “Kashai” (meaning butcher) and “Patha” (meaning goat), terms he describes as deeply disrespectful.  In his statement to popular news company India Today police Shantanu Mukherjee gave stated which goes like this  “My grandfather was an important figure in the freedom movement, working alongside prominent leaders, with his ideology aligned with Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. To label him in such derogatory terms is not only historically inaccurate but also offensive to our family and the community,”

According to report for hurting sentiments of Freedom Fighter Gopal Mukherjee his grandson  Shantanu has sent a legal notice to Vivek Agnihotri and lodged a formal FIR demanding a public apology. Shantanu Mukherjee said without consulting freedom fighter Gopal Mukherjee family and verifying historical facts Vivek Agnihotri’s tried to demolishe freedom fighter Gopal Mukherjee’s reputation, he should have been gone through right facts and than he should have released trailer, in his statement Shantanu Mukherjee said  “I think Vivek Agnihotri should research more on this. From where did they get this wrong information? He has not contacted us either. That’s why we are protesting and will continue to do so,”.

We hope filmmaker will apologise if he has done misrepresentation of Freedom Fighter Gopal Mukherjee.
