Aditya Roy Kapur is set to attend the 2024 International Emmy Awards in New York on November 25, as his acclaimed series The Night Manager competes in the prestigious Best Drama Series category. The show, an Indian adaptation of John le Carré’s novel, stars Kapur alongside Anil Kapoor and Sobhita Dhulipala and is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
Directed by Sandeep Modi, The Night Manager explores the complex dynamics of espionage, betrayal, and power as Kapur’s character, Shaan Sengupta, navigates the dangerous world of an arms dealer played by Anil Kapoor. The Indian version has been praised for its gripping performances and high production value. Competing against entries from France, Argentina, and Australia, it is the sole Indian nomination at this year’s Emmys.
Aditya expressed his excitement about the nomination, calling it a testament to the hard work of the cast and crew. He added that winning the Emmy would be a “cherry on top,” showcasing Indian content on the global stage.
The ceremony will also feature Indian comedian Vir Das as the host, marking another proud moment for India. Whether The Night Manager secures the award or not, its nomination highlights the growing impact of Indian storytelling in international entertainment.
