Inherited confidence: Khushi Kapoor wore Sridevi’s gown for “mom’s embrace on The Archies premiere”

Khushi Kapoor, who made her Bollywood debut in Zoya Akhtar’s film The Archies, caught everyone’s attention at the premiere by wearing one of her late mother Sridevi’s gowns. In an interview, Khushi revealed that her choice of outfit wasn’t planned in advance. She wanted to personalize her ensemble and decided to rummage through old clothes for something sentimental. 

When asked about her decision to pursue a career in the film industry, Khushi shared that it was a childhood dream. Growing up on film sets, she couldn’t imagine doing anything else. The world of cameras, lights, and storytelling fascinated her from a young age.

Reflecting on her childhood on her parents’ film sets, Khushi remembered accompanying her mother during the sitcom Malini Iyer and her father during the filming of Wanted. She also mentioned how special it was to be on set for her mother’s comeback film, English Vinglish, particularly during the New York scenes. This film holds a special place in her heart as one of her favorites.
