She was born in Jamshedpur, India on July 18, 1982. Chopra is the daughter of Ashok Chopra, a physician in the Indian Army, and Madhu Chopra, a homemaker. She has one older brother, Siddharth Chopra. 

Priyanka began her career as a model, winning the Miss World pageant in 2000. She made her Bollywood acting debut in the 2002 film “The Hero”. Chopra has since starred in over 50 films, including “Fashion” (2008), “Bajirao Mastani” (2015), and “The White Tiger” (2021).
