According to report Maharashtra witnessed highest rate of corona positive patient on Sunday state recorded 57,074 cases.
Taking into consideration about rise of corona cases in Maharashtra on Sunday CM initiated a lockdown-like situation in the state till April 30. As a result, multiplexes and single screen cinemas will remain shut. The film and television shoots, however, have been allowed.
According to report before taking strict decision CM Uddhav Thackeray, virtually met stakeholders from different sectors on Saturday April 4 to discuss the situation and to seek their cooperation. The entertainment sector got a fair chance to opine their views in front of the chief minister. The industry was represented by director-producer Rohit Shetty, Kamal Gianchandani, CEO, PVR Pictures, Kapil Agarwal, Joint Managing Director, UFO Moviez, Akshaye Rathi, film exhibitor and distributor, Alok Tandon, Chief Executive Officer, INOX Leisure Ltd, Nitin Datar, head of Cinema Owners & Exhibitors Association of India (COEAI), Devang Sampat, CEO, Cinepolis India, Prakash Chaphalkar, secretary, Multiplex Association of India and others.
According to report CM appreciated Rohit Shetty for taking brave and difficult decision of postponing his upcoming most awaited project Sooryavanshi. On the other hand Rohit agreed that the industry should support the government’s endeavour of saving lives.”
