Filmmaker revealed his experience of creating 2 minutes Pepsi ad in a Book titled unscripted penned by Abhijit Joshi, in book it’s disclosed in 1998 Prinda’s budget was 12 lakhs however on the other hand Pepsi as was created for 1 crore out of 50
Lakhs was filmmakers fees which is quite handsome amount during 1990.

Juhi Chawla along with thousands of extras.
Well in Underscript filmmaker confesed he was terrified looking at the setup and the number of people present on the set, at Mehboob Studios, Mumbai. Ad was choreographed by Binod Pradhan. Despite having access to Pepsi bottle he used his mind for protecting extras drinking Pepsi by creating drink adding purple syrup made from jamun and mixed it with soda. To motivate the actors, Vidhu told them to imagine that there are few lucky ones in India to taste Pepsi before others. They were also made to say ‘aah’, and this bit became quite popular.
According to filmmaker while creating ad he took serious and dangerous step by putting
camera trolley on the catwalk, which was situated at a height in the studio floor. Filmmaker further admit his act would have led him to grievous injury if he had fallen from the height. However, their risk paid off. The top shot was spectacular and still amazes viewers.
According to filmmaker vice chairman and Pepsi team was to impressed with his efforts that he was invited to New York by vice chairperson and creative head of Pepsi for meeting it was only 15 minutes meeting.
