Yesterday, i.e. Sunday was a sad day in the history of music industry of India as one of the legends of Indian classical music, Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan, took his last breath at his Mumbai residence. Many of the music artists including Lata Mangeshkar, AR Rahman and Amjad Ali Khan came forward to offer tribute to the Padma Vibhushan awardee.
Expressing grief over his sad demise, melody queen Lata Mangeshkar posted a photo of Ghulam Mustafa Khan and said that along with being a great singer, he also was a great human being. Check out her Tweet:
AR Rahman wrote, “The sweetest teacher of all… May the Ghafoor-ur-Rahim give you a special place in the next world #UstadGhulamMustafa.”
Popular Sarod player Amjad Ali Khan was also left saddened to know about the demise of Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan. He offered condolences to his family and said,“He was one of the most respected and versatile vocalists of our country. His musical legacy lives on forever! My deepest condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace”.
Many film personalities also came forward to express their condolences on this sad news.
