Fiming a remake of an old movie is in trend in Bollywood and is not slowing down anytime soon. According to latest reports, we will soon be seeing remake of 1975’s classic, Chupke Chupke. Rajkummar Rao has signed the film, where he will be seen in the shoes of Dharmendar and will play his role in the movie.
The old Chupke Chupke was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, and stars Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Sharmila Tagore along with Dharmendra in key role. According to reports, while the character of Dharmendra, who plays Parimal (Botany Professor) is signed by Rajkumar Rao, the actor who will play Amitabh’s character (Sukumar) is still on.
A source quotes, “The script is undergoing some rewrites as the makers are determined to do justice to the original. They are also in talks with several actors for the role of Sukumar, professor of English masquerading as Parimal and trying to teach botany, enacted by Amitabh Bachchan in the original.”
