News of writer lyricist winning Richard Dawkins Award was confirmed by his daughter Joya Akhtar.

Confirming the above said news Joya took social sharing platform Instagram, she shared her excitement by posting one click of her dad with caption ” So my dad just won the prestigious Richard Dawkins Award 2020 for Critical Thinking and advancing Humanist Values. He is the only Indian to have done so. Previous recipients include Bill Maher, Stephen Fry, Ricky Gervais and Christopher Hitchens. Super excited for him”.

Soon after Joya’s post got viral number of celebrities came forward and congratulated Javed Akhtar for achieving new milestone.
