Bollywood legendary filmmaker David Dhawan revealed Salman Khan was not ready to collaborate with Govinda in Partner.
Well 90 era was popular for David Dhawan and Govinda’s collaboration as they both together collaborate for 17 projects out which number of projects came out to be blockbuster hits like Raja Babu, Coolie No 1, Hero No 1, Aankhen, and Saajan Chale Sasural. Their collaboration of comedy projects has left a lasting impact on bollywood cinema.
Recently film maker appeared in Arbaaz Khan’s talk show, The Invincibles Series, where he opened about his long-standing working relationship and bonding with Govinda. Filmmaker said “Govind used to say, ‘David ek kaam karta hu, I will give the entire scene in one shot.’ Then we used to cut the scenes; that’s how we worked. I was the only one who could handle him.”
Answering to Govinda’s Punctuality filmmaker said “Kaam khatam hota tha mera,” implying that despite any delays, the work always got completed efficiently.
While opening about casting of the 2007 hit film Partner, David Dhawan revealed how he shared an idea to producer Sohail Khan. “Can we take Govinda and Salman bhai?” he suggested. Though Sohail Khan was ready for it but Salman Khan himself wasn’t initially enthusiastic. David recalled saying, “Come yaar, let’s do it, it will be a big thing,” to Salman Khan.
Well David’s decision of making Partner with Govinda and Salman worked and movie became blockbuster hit.
