3G based on real life incident

Neil Nitin Mukesh and Sonal Chauhan’s upcoming film 3G is based on real life incidents.

The thriller is inspired by a true event in Nigeria where a phone number was jinxed. Whoever owned that number would die within six months of possessing it? That’s when the idea came to the director duo Sheershak Anand and Shantanu Ray Chhibber.

Says Sheershak, “We read the articles based on an incident that occurred in Nigeria and we were inspired. We did a lot of research for the film. We’ve been writing films for a while now and we like doing something out of the box. Our films are high concept and we like the supernatural, thriller and horror genre”.

“We always wanted to make a different kind of horror film. Not the regular kind of movies where they show haunted mansions and villas. The idea of a haunted cell phone can be so scary in different scenarios. We live in the 21st century and in this world of the third generation, everything is evolving from fashion to music, so why not fear? That’s why our film is called 3G.” Sheershak adds
